Bangladesh Unity Forum

The Bangladesh Unity Forum is a UK-based not-for-profit organisation established to represent the interests of persons of Bangladeshi origin living in the UK.

Our mission is to raise awareness and advocate for the rights and freedoms of those living in Bangladesh. Regardless of their religious or political affiliation, we believe Bangladeshi people should have their freedoms protected.

We will shed light on what is currently going on in Bangladesh, including reports of human rights abuses, violence against minority and religious groups, political activists and women and girls. We will also help draw attention to the repression of media, judicial freedoms, as well as wider societal, economic, geopolitical or democratic challenges facing the country.

The Bangladesh Unity Forum is a secular organisation that operates across the UK and collaborates with local and national government authorities, institutions, organisations, charities, human rights bodies and think tanks to achieve its objectives.

• To monitor and engage with community concerns and issues and facilitate space for debate, discussion and engagement within community groups.
• To inform members of the Bangladeshi diaspora community and beyond about critical issues within Bangladesh.
• To engage with governmental, public and private entities over concerns raised by members of the British Bangladeshi diaspora and ensure their views are represented.
• To provide impartial, expert or third-party opinion and commentary on Bangladeshi current affairs.
• To establish links with other groups and organisations representing the interests of the Bangladeshi diaspora community in the UK and other jurisdictions.
